Development Manager John Sutcliffe is a senior leader and Chartered Management Accountant with significant experience across a diverse range of public, private, not-for-profit and publicly funded organisations within hospitality, distribution, FMCG and manufacturing.
John has successfully led business transformation programmes by generating a culture where high performance is the norm. In his role at TFE Hotels, he is responsible for identifying and assessing new hotel operating opportunities for all brands across Australia and New Zealand. He also project manages everything from legal documentation to technical requirements to ensure optimal value is delivered to hotel owners.
John joined TFE in 2014 as Financial Controller before spending three years as the Commercial Manager in the Operations team. Before TFE, John spent five years as Financial Controller for Tesco Distribution in the UK. In his current role, John is responsible for identifying and assessing new hotel operating opportunities for all brands across Australia and New Zealand.

Michael joined the Toga Group in 1997.
Michael is responsible for evaluating new hotel opportunities, either by way of acquisition, development or operating agreements for all of the brands in Australia and New Zealand and is heavily involved in property valuations, owner relations and large commercial contract negotiations.
Michael has supported the group’s growth from 8 Medina serviced apartments to currently more than 70 properties across the 6 brands of Adina, Medina, Rendezvous, Travelodge, Vibe Hotels and TFE Hotels Collection. Michael is an Australian Chartered Accountant and holds degrees in commerce and accounting.

Matthias joined Toga Group in 2012 as Head of Development, Germany, to grow the TFE Hotels portfolio within Central Europe and has since doubled the portfolio of Adina Apartment Hotels in Germany.
Matthias has more than 25 years experience in the field of hotel real estate. Before starting with TFE Hotels, he worked as a consultant specialising in valuations and has held positions as Project Manager and owner’s representative for major real estate funds in Germany.
He started his career in hotel management for Hilton. Matthias is a Chartered Surveyor and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management as well as a Masters degree in Real Estate. He is lecturing hotel development at IUBH near Cologne, Germany where he lives.
